Barcelona 24th August 2010

Breakfast was a feast – 5 huge tables – holding many yummy treats – no continental breakfast here – no muesli – cornflakes etc. to be seen.
We realised that we had left our power adaptor back in Espalion.  The hotel didn’t have any and so our walk around Barcelona had a purpose.  A bit of trial and error and much walking but we found one that was right and so we bought two.  One for each major case.
We bought some food and drink and went up to the Mont Juic Park area to enjoy our picnic.  Three million people live in this small area – no wonder everything looks crowded.  We are just not used to seeing this many people all day every day.  The traffic is heavy and it is quite a noisy place to be.
The afternoon was spent on a hop on off bus seeing the sights.  Gaudi’s cathedral and many of his designed buildings gave Barcelona a very different look city to other cities.
We walked back to the Hotel.  We got a bit lost and walked a long way more than needed.  That evening we went to the ‘Old Spanish Village’ to a ‘Tapas and Flamenco night.  It was great.  Pop loves this style of guitar.  The old town was really gorgeous.  I bought a small glass basket which had a Gaudi inspired design.  Earlier in the day I’d bought an oil painting from a young man – Octavia – of this Old Spanish Town.  Home to bed as we wanted to get an early start in the morning.
