Grammy and Pops Grand Tour began in August 2010. This, we thought at the time, would be our
one and only such trip. At that time I
was suffering the effects of arthritis in my back. There was talk of surgery but somewhere
further down the track and with no encouragement of a good outcome. Our 40th wedding anniversary was
coming and so we decided we wanted to spend this special time in the city of
love – Paris. My doctors all advised
against the trip but as arthritis only ever gets worse we decided to make the
most of the opportunity and go. It is
because of my health that I am often in photos sitting down and in my notes
talk of having rest times.
Six months after our return I had very successful surgery
on my back and have been fortunate enough to enjoy two other overseas
trips. But this is the story of our
first - Grammyandpopsgrandtour
