Geneva - Happy Birthday Pop - 2nd September 2010

Happy Birthday Pop.  To start this day we went out and bought ourselves a watch.  We had been window shopping for a watch – easy to do with every second shop selling watches.  We both found a favourite.  Mine has a large face wind up with glass front and back so that all of the workings are visible – I just fell in love with it the moment I saw it.
We then caught a tram to Carouge – we had been told it was a quaint old town (we love quaint old towns) but we didn’t find it to be either quaint or particularly old……oh well headed back to the lake for lunch.   There is a little yellow water taxi that just spends the whole day going back and forth across the lake – so off to the other side of the lake on the water taxi we went.  We bought some chocolate – Swiss of course – then headed off to the train station to check out our departure point for tomorrow.  We couldn’t find any information but it should be ok.  Back to the Hotel for a rest and look through our information on Milan which is our next destination.

To celebrate Pop’s birthday we went out to the ‘old town’ and had dinner in the main square.  It was perfect.  Then a stroll home to pack and get ready for our early start in the morning.
