Eiffel Tower 16th August 2010

Raining still!!!!
We went for a wander around the shops. Everything is very chic and very expensive – not to mention very French….
Our time in Paris was limited and so we decided we were off to the Eiffel Tower, rain or no rain.  We went by train.  We bought an umbrella along the way – that is how wet it is!!!  Anyone who knows me knows I HATE umbrellas with a passion.  So it was a big step to actually own one.  We bought a transparent one so you can at least see who you are about to blind and avoid the damage.
The Eiffel Tower is huge.  I was amazed at how much space it took up on the ground.  It took a couple of hours to get our tickets.  We were finally in the elevator and on our way up.  We climbed up to the very top.  It was hard to see because of the rain but every now and then there was a clear patch.  Paris is a very beautiful city.  It did look lovely even on this wet day so how beautiful it must be on a clear day.

Tea at Café Madeleine on the way home.
